Nursing hasn't always been a female dominated profession. Prior to the Civil War, most nurses were men. We discuss the cultural issues that pushed women out of nursing during the antebellum period as well as the relatively recent increase in the number of male nurses. Jody participates in this panel discussion with other faculty members of Calhoun Community College on the CCC podcast Crossing The Streams (Season 3, Episode 3).
Dr. Sheila Byrd, PhD, is a professor of English.
Dr. John Gaines, PhD, is a professor of history.
Dr. Stacy Powell, DNP, is a professor of nursing.
