Helloooo this is a very different episode! Lorena and I have been busy but still wanted to get episodes out so we did a few talking about ourselves and how we got into kpop!
Wow! Okay this is turn from our usual! Lorena and I are packed max with school and work and managing our lives so for this episode we decided to take a turn! We've always been so interested in true crime and there were nights where we would stay up until all hours of the night watching 'Forensic Files'! Now this episode is all about the murder of Kim Sung-Jae! The night he made his debut as a soloist he died under mysterious circumstances! Give this episode a listen and listen to what happened to Kim Sung-Jae who was taken from the world at the age of 23. He was an incredible talent and had such a huge respect for music and he is a major influence to Kpop today.…
Hello one and all! Welcome to part 2 of Kard! We hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about the members last week and now we’ll share our favorite songs, music videos, dances, etc! Of course we’ll also cover any scandals and controversies they have faced. Hopefully you’ve liked our little introduction to kard, believe us they are worth the listen. See you next week!…
Hey look at this a new episode! This time we are talking about the Co-ed group KARD! First these guys are freaking BOMB!! In this episode we will be going over some general information of each member and guessing their positions, and being amazing by their talent! Member J-Seph will be enlisted in the Army soon so best of luck to him and we hope he stays safe and healthy while he is away! KARD has quickly taken over the western part of the world and they are making their way to be just as big in Korea! Their ever changing styles shows how impressive they are and their dynamic as a group is something that is awe inspiring! Next week will be Part 2 of KARD where we go over favorites and if KARD has their first win yet (Spoiler Alert: Not yet and that is mind blowing) Don't forget to tune in and listen!…
Hello again everyone! We’re switching things up a little bit this week. We will briefly go over news for groups/soloists that we have discussed in the past to catch up with all of the comebacks that have happened this year! Then, we asked our dear friend Kristen to send us some of the questions she’s had while listening. This is just a fun idea we had for a more laid back, researchless episode because life has gotten a little busy for us lately. Keep in mind that this episode is heavily opinion based so please keep in mind that this is how we feel and not necessarily universal to K-pop. Despite the fact that it’s not what we usually do we hope you take the time to listen to this episode. We had fun recording it, and maybe you and Kristen have had some similar questions! Thanks! See ya!…
Hi, how are ya, hello! New week, new episode so let’s talk about everglow! They debuted in 2019 and have been some of the most talked about rookies since. Every comeback they impress their fans with powerful, well-executed songs and dances. They are fairly new and there are not very many members so we will only do one episode on Everglow, but we hope that you learn enough about the group to entice you to give them a listen. Thanks for stopping by! See you next week!…
Hello one and all! As promised today we’re talking about the incredibly talented Jeong Sewoon. He has been around since Produce 101 and has released a lot of beautiful music since then. He’s up there with Taeyeon and Sejeong in that he has the vocals for both ballads and really catchy pop. Of course we’ll talk about our favorite songs and music videos but you’ll also get to learn about the man himself. If you hadn’t heard about Jeong Sewoon before you’re not the only one but get ready to add a great new artist to your music library! See you guys next time!…
I have been waiting to record this episode for a long time so I am so happy that we can finally share it with you all! Kim Sejeong might not be as internationally recognized as some other idols but she is making huge strides in Korea! She’s a very rare idol who has debuted in multiple groups on top of being a soloist and actress! Despite all of her amazing achievements when you see her you can’t help but feel that she is one of the most humble and genuine people on earth. Her voice is incredible, and she is one of the few artists who can make me cry at the drop of a hat when she goes on stage. I hope you all enjoy listening about Sejeong’s life and music! Tune in next time where we’ll talk about another impressive soloist, Jeong Sewoon!…
Ready to hear about HYO? Good because the episode is here! If you’re familiar with the name Girls Generation (which you should if you listened to the Taeyeon episode) you know they are a force of nature in the world of K-pop. We’re talking legends. At the moment the members are venturing into solo projects and we’re here to talk about HYO’s recent activities. She’s got a great voice, is a legendary dancer, and even ventures into DJ work! Girls Generation has been around for quite some time so there are a lot of impressive career achievements HYO has up her sleeve. There is a lot of surprising information to learn in this episode so we hope you like it! Next time we’re talking about one of my personal favorite soloists SEJEONG!…
Welcome back to the only podcast where you can learn about K-pop’s best artists and simultaneously make fun of the hosts! This week we are starting with the first of four soloists we are featuring. She’s an industry veteran that has been in a total of 4 groups and has been active since 2007. Yes, I’m talking about HYUNA! If you’ve ever heard any of her songs or seen some of her music videos you know that she is one of the most unique K-pop acts because she isn’t afraid to use mature concepts. We’ll go over her solo endeavors in this episode as well as some information and facts about her social life. Before doing research on HYUNA for this episode I only admired her casually. After finding out more I have truly come to love everything she does. I hope it’ll be the same for you! See you next time to learn about former SNSD member HYO’s solo work!…
Part two of Rocket Punch is here! As promised we’re talking about our favorites today, as well as our overall opinions of the group and our favorite members. Rocket Punch is a group composed of fairly young girls so their music is more on the juvenile side but they release some catchy songs (remember the fandom name?) so make sure to check them out. This episode was recorded prior to the announcement of their latest comeback with Juicy and the mini-album Blue Punch, so sorry that we don’t include that in these episodes but go listen to Juicy and the rest of the album! Personally Juicy is now one of my favorites. See you next week, we’re starting off a round of soloist profiles we hope you enjoy!…
Season 2!! Hello and howdy do! I told you we’d be back with another group and I didn’t lie! This week we’ll start with part 1 of Rocket Punch. This rookie group has some catchy tunes under their belt so they are definitely worth knowing! Get to know some of the members’ quirks so you know the girls behind the music. Come back next week and we’ll talk about our Rocket Punch must-hears and much more since you know we go off topic at least 10 times an episode! Thanks! Bye!…
Hello and good day to all who listen to this podcast! I know you waited a week but we are back with some more TXT! This week we’re talking bias, songs, music videos, the whole enchilada! They don’t have many music videos but they are far deeper than you might think, thankfully Sierra has provided us with a theory (from bookish theories on YouTube) that might help you see just how intricate they really are. Hope you enjoy listening today and we’ll see you next time so we can introduce you to another great group! Bye!…
Hola K-pop hermanos y hermanas! Saying hello everytime is a little boring so I wanted to change it up a bit. As always welcome back, this week we’ll talk about some super rookies, Tomorrow x Together AKA TXT! Personally I prefer TXT because, well it’s shorter and easier. BTS’s hoobae ( junior) group is making a name for itself very fast with great quality music and performances. Today we’ll give you some information on each member so you know a little bit about who you’re listening to. As usual we’ll definitely go off topic a bit so bear with us even though we’re extremely random. Anyway, enjoy the episode and make sure to come back next week for our favorites, bias, and some music video analysis!…
Hello everyone! Welcome back to Kpop Tea, quite possibly the most disorganized podcast ever; but hey you’re listening so something’s working! This week we decided to teach you guys a little bit about BVNDIT, Chung Ha’s little sister group! They are just starting out and don’t have much music as of yet so this will be a one parter (not a word) but it’s a fun one! As always you’ll learn about the members, the group’s discography, and our favorites! Hopefully this episode will encourage you to listen to BVNDIT and encourage you to follow their growth within the industry. Thanks for stopping by, see you next week!…
Before we start I have to give a disclaimer, this episode has some talk of mental health, depression, and it also has a lot of dark emotions blended in and some slight history lessons so this will hopefully be not too long of an episode but this is important. Hi everyone, thanks for tuning in again! As I mentioned last week we’ll be talking about Agust D again! He only has two albums so far, but we’ll go over our favorite songs and lyrics that stuck out to us. We’ll also talk about some theories behind his most recent music video Daechwita; a lot of fans have come up with some really cool explanations for what it depicts so we hope you enjoy listening! Agust D is an artist that raps about a lot of sensitive and emotional topics. In this episode we discuss some serious topics such as depression, anxiety, etc. Despite the fact that some of the things we’ll be talking about are sad, we enjoyed recording this episode, and we hope you enjoy listening to it as well. Thank you, we’ll be back next week!…
Hello and welcome back everyone! Before we start I have to give a disclaimer, this episode has some talk of mental health, depression, and it also has a lot of dark emotions blended in and some slight history lessons so this will hopefully be not too long of an episode but this is important. Today’s episode is about Agust D, if you’re an Army you probably also know this artist as Suga from BTS! Agust D is Suga’s solo name and alter ego. Although he is a soloist we thought it was appropriate to record two episodes for Agust D, because we have a lot to cover! As always in this episode you’ll learn a little bit about Agust/Suga. He is a very complex and interesting person that has worked hard in the music industry for many years. We hope you can gain an appreciation for him after learning a little bit about where he comes from. Tune in next week to hear our favorites and discuss what his songs and music videos explore. See you next time!…
Surprise epsiode!! Hi everyone, welcome back! This is a very interesting episode, one that we’ve been holding off for a while. For the first time we are covering a group that we’re not necessarily completely in love with. However, we do consider them to be important in the Kpop industry. Today you’ll learn a bit about Red Velvet, a group of 5 under SM Entertainment. Of course, as always we go over member profiles so you know more about the girls if you ever decide to listen to some of their music. They have been around for quite a while, therefore they do have a bigger discography than other groups we’ve covered. Their style doesn’t always resonate with us personally, but you might feel differently so don’t let our opinions mold yours. You’ll learn more about this while you listen. Of course, the longer you’re in the industry the more you fall victim to it’s more negative aspects, therefore Red Velvet is a group that has had some controversy. We’ll give you some details on what they’ve experienced over the years. Everyone’s likes and dislikes are different so make sure to go and give Red Velvet a listen after you hear the episode so you can form your own opinion. You might agree with us or maybe they’ll be your favorite group! Either way no judgement. Anyway, we hope you enjoyed listening today, and come back next week for some more of our weird Kpop conversation!…
Hi everyone, welcome back! Remember in our earlier episodes where we said we would revisit some groups we’ve gone over before? Well we did it! Unsurprisingly to all of you we are revisiting Sierra’s boys Stray Kids! Maybe this will deter her from mentioning them in every episode? Unlikely. We came up with a new nickname for the group (although I’m actually liking Sierra’s boys and might start to refer to them that way): The Boys that Never Sleep. Why? Because it’s true! These Kids have done nothing but release content in 2020 and we need to talk about it! They recently released their first full length album which of course we go over as part of their most recent comeback. This is the first time we’re revisiting a group so let us know what you think of the episode. Thanks for listening!…
Hello! Get ready to learn more names because we’re coming at you with another 9 member group! Today we’re talking about Cravity! Starship’s new (and EXTREMELY young) boy group is one of this year’s top contenders for Rookie of the Year! Maybe you don’t know what that means yet but every group hopes for the chance to be honored with this award. I know it’s hard to learn 9 peoples names when they’re constantly jumping around and dancing on stage but we’ll give you a few pointers. Other than that just sit back and enjoy hearing some fun facts about these kids, yes KIDS. They don’t have much music released yet, but we’ll talk about the songs, music videos, and dances they’ve released so far. Hopefully becoming a LUVITY now will be fun for everyone. You’ll get to see them grow and try different concepts throughout their careers; I have no doubt we’ll be back with an update on them in a later episode. Thanks for listening! See you next week! Sort of!…
Welcome back to this insane podcast! We are back with more information on Victon and this time you get to learn the really fun stuff! Bias! Best songs! Favorite music video! Victon has improved a lot since debut and we discuss a little bit about the concept change that has led to their growing success. Victon members are unproblematic so no need to worry about scandals in this episode! No weird stories in this one, but there will no doubt be more in future episodes so stay tuned!…
Wow this episode is a wild ride, I am so sorry. We’re talking about Victon today! You know the drill member introductions first! Victon is completely underrated so we need you guys to learn about them so you can appreciate them for what they really are: the Seven Wonders of the World. I know. Dramatic. All jokes aside there are some very good facts in here that will make listening to Victon all the more enjoyable! Warning: This episode has some very strange detours. We’re talking unusual tributes to wild animals and being scared of showers. Yeah. Again I’m sorry we’re a mess but we can’t help it. Have fun! Come back next time to hear more about Victon!…
Hello again, welcome to week two of Itzy! Now we get to talk about our favorite stuff! We’ll give you our recommended list of Itzy essentials. Honestly, there aren’t too many yet since they are only about a year old but I can’t get enough of what they’ve released so far. Their music videos are always well executed so make sure to go check them out too! While the topics are unpleasant we want to talk about negative “scandals” that surround the group. Hopefully after hearing the unfortunate things idols go through you’ll be even more encouraged to treat them with the respect and kindness they deserve. Thanks for listening! See you next time!…
Hi and welcome to whichever number episode this is! I’ve officially lost count. This week we’re talking about the super rookies Itzy! They release bop after bop and in my opinion they will be one of the biggest girl groups of this generation. As always we’ll start out with introductions to the girls and their discography. Hopefully you enjoy the episode, we’ll see you again next week when we’ll discuss our biases and favorites and unfortunately some of the negative news that is bound to surround a new group.…
Hello! Another saturday, another episode of Kpop tea! This is the second part of our Oneus series. Finally we get to our favorite part. Oneus has some of the best vocalists and rappers in a rookie group, by just hearing one song you’ll be able to hear that. We’ll tell you which songs stood out to us in their growing catalog. They’re hard at work despite how new they are and have had multiple comebacks for us to all enjoy. Fortunately for us the fact that they are so new also means they have yet to face much controversy in their career, so you don’t have to hear anything negative this time around! Of course, we couldn’t leave music videos out, so make sure to check them out below. Come back next week for a profile on female rookie group ITZY!…
Welcome! For the next few weeks we’ll be talking about some up and coming rookie groups! This week we go over RBW’s newest male group Oneus. While they debuted just over a year ago Oneus is already gaining a strong and passionate fan base. Of course, once your hear their music you’ll know why. As always, we’ll start off the series with an introduction to the group’s members. These boys are some interesting characters; learning some of their talents, interests, and quirks will only make you want to know more! To satisfy your newfound curiosity for Oneus we’ll be back next week with part two, stay tuned!…
Well, well, well, fancy seeing you on a Wednesday. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has taken the world by storm and we’ve all faced interruptions in our daily routine due to stay at home orders. Our podcast has also been affected by this; but, don’t worry because we still found a way to record remotely from the comfort of our individual homes. We wanted to do something different for this episode because discussing groups is always more fun when we’re actually together. We came up with the idea of creating a list of some of our favorite covers performed by popular K-pop groups. It’s always interesting to see a group perform a style or song that isn’t their own. It gives us some of the best crossover moments in K-pop! We hope you enjoy the videos we chose. We’ve discussed some of the groups, and some are on our list of upcoming episodes, so check it out and see what’s in store for the future of the podcast!…
We were lucky enough to see Blackpink at their first concert in the U.S last year; it was an amazing experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat. We truly love and respect these girls and hope you will too. Welcome to part two of our Blackpink series! This episode was both incredibly fun and frustrating to record. Fun, because of course we give you our list of favorite Blackpink songs and music videos. As always it was hard for us to choose, and to be honest we both love all Blackpink songs, but hopefully our list will give you a good taste of their music. The frustrating part was having to address some of the unfortunate experiences the girls have had since debut. Of course, we discuss the infamous “Lazy Jennie”, as well as dating “scandals” that have surrounded the girls. However, don’t let those negative stories impact your opinion of Blackpink, they are an amazing group that deserves all the success they have had. Coincidentally, Blackpink’s next comeback was just announced! Catch up on their discography now so you can enjoy the new album in all its glory!…
I’m amazed we’ve managed to hold ourselves back enough to wait until episode 10 to talk about Blackpink! As you will soon find out; Blackpink is our favorite girl group, and for good reason! These girls are talented, charismatic, sweet, beautiful, and…well the list goes on. We could talk about Blackpink for days, but we figured we should start you off easy with an introduction to the girls. Find out interesting facts about the girls’ lives before debut and their impressive career achievements. Make sure you keep an ear (?) out to learn what Blackpink represents and their fandom name in case you want to join us.…
