Deze podcast behandelt het onderwerp perioperatieve beademing, beademing op de operatiekamer. Deskundige op dit gebied is Marcus Schultz, internist-intensivist en hoogleraar experimentele intensive care aan het Amsterdam universitair medisch centrum locatie AMC.

Op de operatiekamer worden dagelijks veel patiënten beademd. In het verleden was de enige optie volume gecontroleerd beademen. Inmiddels hebben de moderne anesthesiemachines bijna net zoveel beademingsmogelijkheden als de geavanceerde beademingsmachines op de intensive care.

We gaan onder andere in op de volgende onderwerpen:

  • Is het bij gezonde longen een probleem om tijdens anesthesie kortdurend een standaard beademingsinstelling te gebruiken?
  • Welke beademingsmodus is van voordeel tijdens intraoperatieve beademing?
  • Welk PEEP niveau moeten we kiezen tijdens een intraoperatieve beademing?
  • Is er een fysiologische PEEP?
  • Wat is driving pressure en hoe meet je dat?
