Hauser drops by to talk with Kyle Meredith about his new album, Classic II, a sequel to his 2020 project that found the 2Cellos member reinterpreting a set of handpicked classical songs. Listen to the new episode above, or wherever you get your podcasts.
The artist explains the concept of the new album, how it connects to the previous installment, and the process of selecting which compositions would make the cut. He also gets into why he feels classical music has been able to endure in the current landscape of music, as well as why he feels it's particularly important that it does.
Still, the world-renowned cellist does have a soft-spot for certain pop and rock artists. He's collaborated with several rock icons -- like U2 and Red Hot Chili Peppers -- and enjoys the ways the different schools of music intersect.
