Dr. Maq's guest, the multi-talented Theresa tha Songbird, talks about her love of art and how she is using it to promote positivity and self-love. The video of Songbird's appearance on the 2019 Trumpet Awards, which aired on Bounce TV, reciting the poem You So Black went viral. The poem which speaks to the beauty, joy, pain and triumphs associated with ‘Blackness' was also featured by Facebook during Black History Month in 2021. She has shared the stage with acclaimed artists including Jill Scott, MC Lyte, Jasmine Sullivan, Robert Glasper and Bobby Brown.
