What does it take to become a truly effective leader? Our guest this week is Patrick Flesner from Cologne Germany. Patrick has been working in private equity, venture capital, and mergers & acquisitions for two decades. As an investor, board member, leadership coach, and mentor, he has been passing on his leadership and growth insights to founders, entrepreneurs, managers, leaders, and leadership teams of companies of all sizes.

As a leadership coach and trusted adviser, he works with leaders who want to become more effective leaders and build thriving teams. He is especially passionate about working with leaders in change situations, assisting leaders in growing their businesses fast and efficiently, and helping leaders turn around dysfunctional organizations.

He is the author of the bestselling growth handbook: FastScaling: The Smart Path to Building Massively Valuable Businesses. His writing has also appeared in Inc. Magazine, I by IMD, and the MIT Sloan Management Review.

Today we’re going to discuss his latest book The Leadership House: A Leadership Tale about the Challenging Path to Becoming an Effective Leader, and a practical framework for becoming an effective leader that others trust, respect, and follow. We explore important distinctions in vertical and horizontal accountability, the eight pillars of leadership, indicators of poor leadership, and how to restore trust after it’s been broken.

Whether you are a startup founder or leader in a large organization, you will find Patrick’s practical framework and insights highly valuable.
