It can be daunting to come into a new business and start implementing changes to the processes. Christine Hodge, the CEO of Clearview Washing LLC, did just that, and through her hard work creating new processes tripled the company’s revenue. Learn about the importance of investing in your processes, building out the right team for your company, and developing a rock-solid company culture.

Takeaways:

  • Implementing a new process or technology into your company takes time along with consistency and continuous training.
  • When starting a business, it’s critical that you identify your own strengths and weaknesses and then bring in a great team of people who will fill the gaps.
  • For entrepreneurs starting their own businesses, start documenting your processes from day one. This will save your whole team massive headaches down the line.
  • The processes you implement should never make someone’s life harder, however, there will be challenges as people are first learning the process. Think of the work that everyone puts into learning the process as an investment.
  • Every time leaders interact with their team they should be training them in some small way. Training people in new systems is not a one-day process.
  • You need to know your numbers! Take the time to look at your balance sheet and understand it. This will help you understand your margins and identify problem areas within your business.
  • You need to communicate with the separate parts of your company and a great way of doing this is by having weekly meetings.
  • You have to build a strong culture within your company. Your employees represent the company on the whole and they are who the clients see and will think of when they leave a review.

Quote of the Show:

  • “You have to build an employee culture if you want to grow your company because they're representing you” - Christine Hodge
