In February, we sat down with Julia Reich, PT, DPT, to discuss common injuries seen in outdoor recreationists, how to prevent them, and what to do when an injury occurs. Even though the episode focused heavily on skiing, the basic themes apply to all activities and are especially important when transitioning from one season’s activities to the next. So, we’re releasing the episode today as a bonus.

Julia is originally from New Jersey and practices outpatient physical therapy at Alta View Hospital in Sandy, UT. Outside of work, you can find her laying down skin tracks in the backcountry, ripping singletrack on her mountain bike, bagging peaks, or riding the lifts at Alta. An endurance athlete herself, she understands the concerns and frustrations of active individuals when it comes to injuries. Follow Julia on Instagram at @ja_reich.
