Maurice Isserman is a professor of American History at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY and the author of several books on the history of mountaineering. We spoke to Maurice about his two latest books, The Winter Army: The World War II Odyssey of the 10th Mountain Division, America's Elite Alpine Warriors and Continental Divide: A History of American Mountaineering.

Maurice is also the author of the award-winning book Fallen Giants: A History of Himalayan Mountaineering from the Age of Empire to the Age of Extremes.
