This talk is part of a series on 'How to overcome five hindrances' and it focuses on the hindrance of sloth and torpor, or laziness, dullness and heaviness, and how to let them go.

The five hindrances are different types of dullness, distraction and disturbance that cover and suppress our mind preventing us experiencing clear, beneficial, and peaceful mental states. When we understand how they function as negative mental states and learn the skills and methods to let them go, we can reduce their intensity and eventually abandon them completely and be free from their negative effects.
