וגם בעבודת האדם ישנם ב' בחינות אלו, והוא אהבה מסותרת והאהבה שמתגלית ע"י ההתבוננות. דהאהבה המסתורת נקראת אש שחורה מפני ששרשה הוא בבחי' אור, ששזפתני השמש, ולכן כי ראה כי טוב לגנוז. ונקראת גם אש שחורה מפני שמכוסה בלבוש שק דקליפה, ועל זה אומר בני אמי ניחרו בי, בני אמי קאי על היצה"ר, שהם שמוני כנוטרה על הכרמים (ופי׳ ניחרו הוא ע״ד וילך חרנה, שהו״ע נחר גרוני, וע״י התשובה נעשה מחרן רנה), אך היצה"ר אינו פועל על נה"א עצמה. וזהו שחורה אני ונאוה, ששורש החושך הוא מבחי' ישת חושך סתרו.
