Jacinta McMahon is a User Experience Consultant at Thirst Studios in Melbourne. I first met Jacinta when she was a student in one of my Graphic Recording and Whiteboards Mastery training courses a couple of years ago. We have a great chat about what UX is, how they listen and research to understand people's motivations, and what they do with the info they gather. Among other things, we cover: - "listening between the lines" - the incongruence between what people say and how they behave - positive and negative empathy levers - the pros and cons of personal bias - the potential impact of artificial intelligence on UX design Some other things for you: The models we refer to are included in this article Jacinta wrote last year: http://uxmas.com/2016/designing-for-why/ Example of an empathy map http://www.solutionsiq.com/what-is-an-empathy-map/ Some info on Design Thinking https://media.nngroup.com/media/editor/2016/07/25/designthinking_illustration_final2-02.png https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_thinking Thirst Studios http://thirststudios.com/ --------- Listen/Hear is hosted by Melbourne based Graphic Recorder, Speaker and Trainer, Jesssamy Gee. Mastering & intro music by Dan Ryan. www.listenhearpodcast.com www.jessamygee.com.au
