Ovaries and their owners worldwide are no strangers to oppression. Different rules for different genitals have almost always negatively impacted more greatly the female of the species. In Ireland the misogyny was born through invasion by the British and when church then hopped into bed with state. Ireland became a nation littered with horrendous events - some as bizarre as banning tampons due to their 'sexual nature' to the horror of church and state-led infanticide.
