Episode 370 - Mandi Dickey - From Care Giving to In Need of Care - How a Tramatic Brain Injury Refocuses Your Life
Imagine, being in the operating room during brain surgery, being at the top of your career helping others with brain wellness only to be invloved in a car accident that turns a care giver into a recpient of needing care. Imagine hearing your own presentations, reading your own words and everything sounds like a foreign language - nothing makes sense and the knowlege that you have built up over years of education and service in the medial field is wiped from your memory and vocabulary. Dark days indeed. How do you come back from the edge of despair? Mandi joins us to talk about her upcoming book - Welcome Back, we are glad you are here for this great conversation - please share this with anyone that has suffered a traumatic brain injury or those that care for someone that has!
MY MISSION

I educate healthcare workers and the general public about neurological conditions and how to experience life more fully if you experience neurological difficulties

MY EXPERIENCE

I have helped countless patients in my role as Nurse Practitioner in Neurology over the last 11+ years. I am certified in neuroscience care, have given lectures at local and state conferences, and am passionate about helping others live their best lives.

Even more, I have experienced healthcare from the patient's perspective, having migraines since my teens, and currently still recovering from a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). I live life on both sides of the stethoscope.

HOW CAN I HELP YOU?

Grab a copy of my book (link below) to help yourself or someone you know who suffers from migraines.

Need a podcast guest or presentation? I can speak about tips for reduction of migraines or decreasing stroke risk, as well as what it's like to be a provider receiving TBI care, the recovery process or the pitfalls in the health system that I've identified, and the importance of a strong support system to help you get through some of the toughest diagnoses.
