Welcome to the weekend Wonderlings, I know I’m ready for it, Are you? I'm your host Angela Bowen and join me as I discuss Season 2 Episode 8: Hiroshima, Mon Frere which aired on February 15, 1989. In this episode Wayne's bullying of Kevin has been getting pretty out-of-hand lately, but when he interferes in a big way with Kevin and Paul's Science Project, Wayne may have gone too far. Time for my flower power episode rating I’m giving it three out of five I did love it don’t get me wrong. 1. For cute hamsters 2. Kevin finally laying into Wayne all those years of anger finally bubbling over and coming to the surface. 3. I didn’t mention Karen’s one scene and only scene in the episode because it was a brothers themed episode. I knocked two points off mainly for Wayne 1. For his abuse of Weezer on the bus, the garbage disposal, and the act of the vacuum ultimately causing his death. 2. Using Weezer to sexually harass Angela. A cute hamster is still not a good way to cop a feel on a teenage girl. Shame on you wayne. He’s also the worst this episode. He’s getting the boosh toilet swirlie. Here’s the quote of the episode: Narrator: As my brother and I walked home that day, I guess we both knew that things would never be quite the same between us. Everything would be more complicated now. Now, we both knew... that I could hurt him. The funny thing was, I'm not sure I was glad about that. Here’s my Wonderling Words of Wisdom: What I got from the episode, siblings fight, that’s just how things are but sometimes things can go too far and we say things in the heat of the moment, we later wish we can take back. The important thing is to talk it out afterward. Don’t hold grudges if you can help it, because there day might come when you will need to lean on each other for support. Don’t have bad blood. And to all you other listeners out there, thanks again for listening. I want to give a sincere thank to all you listeners out there whether you listen to this podcast on Itunes or Soundcloud or any other listening platforms that you may use to hear this podcast. I love giving you the episode recaps of The Wonder Years every week joining me as I go into full detail as we reminisce of days gone by with Kevin and his friends Paul and Winnie, and the rest of the Arnold family. as well as giving my occasional running commentary and childhood stories. Tells your friends. I do trivia and listener questions, so if you would like a shout out on the podcast all ya gotta do is answer them. Join me next Thursday for S2E10 Walk Out which aired on March 7, 1989. We see Kevin along with other kids in his school schedule a walk out to protest the Vietnam war, however when assistant principal diperna finds out he threatens to suspend all who participate. Have a great weekend everyone!
