'Viy' tells the story of a young priest is ordered to preside over the wake of witch in a small old wooden church of a remote village. This means spending three nights alone with the corpse with only his faith to protect him. Before the Exorcist there was Viy, a Soviet Classic. Filled with witches, goblins, and vampires. With limited resources on a budget of 50 thousand Rubles the three directors managed to make a classic, and yes this movie had three directors, Konstantin Ershov, Georgiy Kropachyov and Aleksandr Ptushko.
