Did you know that as a real estate agent you can win the opportunity to show up on Google Maps? On this week's podcast episode I talk about how to win on Local SEO even if you don't have a website.
First - Create a Google My Business account, While creating your account you can use your name as the business name and add the right category to your name. On the address field you can hide your address, this part is only if you don't want to show your home address and you don't have an office. Once complete you will have to wait a few days for Google to verify your address with a pin that they will snail mail to you.
Second - If you don't already have a blog or a website, Google offers a free website. What you will need to do is first set up your pictures, Business descriptions, attributes, and click on the website field.
Third - Create Relevance with programs like Yext, Whitespark, or Bright Local. They can help you syndicate your information by adding your business info to the top directories ( In which you can also hide your address ). This allows Google to legitimize your business by seeing that your correctly listed on authoritative directories.
Forth - You will also want to consider building your listing on Bing Places, Yelp, Apple Maps, and any local real estate associations you can add yourself too.
Fifth - Consider using Google Posts and updating as frequent as possible. This can help you build trust with your potential customer and gives you a lot more real estate on Googles knowledge graph.
