Northern Minnesota in the summer.

Lyme disease is endemic to Northern Minnesota, where I first started practicing as a doctor. Along with the beautiful summer days come las garrapatas (ticks). I once took care of a camp counselor from Mexico with tick-borne disease, which gave me the idea for this lesson. It provides a great opportunity to practice describing symptoms of an infection, and treatment with antibiotics in Spanish.

Listen to this clinical dialogue about Lyme disease in Spanish. A camp counselor presents to the clinic with erythema migrans, the characteristic rash of Lyme Disease.
