Kurt Mason grew up with his hands in the soil, cultivating his agricultural interests through mud pie creations on a farm in Scott County. He moved to Louisville in 1980 and has remained there since. Kurt talks about the various programs at Natural Resources Conservation Kentucky (NRCS) that offer funding opportunities for agricultural producers and other landowners. He also discusses the changes in land use in the United States, from focusing on solely production to more holistic practices that consider our ecosystems and wildlife. The episode concludes with a discussion of the different environmental trusts that exist in Louisville and Jefferson County.
