A Band Called Goblin. ***This Review of Suspiria Has a Spoiler Section*** Intro / Connection to John Carpenter’s Halloween - Top of the Show Non-Spoiler Review of Dario Argento’s Suspiria: Cast & Crew & Some Great Italian Names - 2:54 Production Notes & some European Satanic Panic - 9:39 Movie Specs & Ports of Interest for 1970s Box Office - 15:59 Plot / Premise + Expectations - 20:55 Production Values: Prog rock & Primary Colors - 23:56 Performances & the Mikes’ Night Terrors - 27:31 Script Thoughts & the Beauty of Giallo Murder - 31:16 Oscar Lens & The Year of Star Wars - 33:03 Final Thoughts / Watch or Don’t - 34:54 Spoiler Music - 37:13 Spoiler-Filled Review: Immediate Carryovers & a Rich Girl at an Airport - 38:29 (Even Though AlsoMike Can’t Help Starting Worst Scenes - 39:41) The Twist - 44:56 Best Scenes - 48:39 (Including Finale Highs - 49:01) Worst Scenes - 50:24 The Man (AlsoMike) Comes Around (Somewhat) - 53:06 Finale Lows - 54:46 Looking Towards Luca - 55.:53 Important Information You Need to Hear/Wisdom - 59:04 By way of previewing Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria, we dove in upon a retrospective movie review of the 1977 Dario Argento cult classic. The original Suspiria was a visual masterpiece, which influenced many of our favorite horror and thriller filmmakers ever since. So we wanted to break down some of these derivatives and explore why the film has become such a cult classic that it would warrant a re-make. We give you your money’s worth in the non-spoiler section with a full profile of cast & crew, production back stories, and movie specs. Like it or not, you will get to know your hosts a bit more throughout this profile as we discuss some of our recurring nightmares, critical slants and musical limitations. Then we embark upon a full non-spoiler review of the trend setting production values, performances, and the script. Our spoiler music interlude isn’t Prog Rock, but it’s still fun. After that, we give a spoiler review full of many a best and worst scene as we discuss the highlights of the film’s plot. There’s banter here for sure. If you enjoy our October Horror Movie retrospectives, do go back and listen to our entire reviews of the Halloween Series and The Conjuring Universe. We culminated both series in the 2018 movie events for Halloween and The Nun. Then we had a blast contributing to the hashtag AllTheHorror month long podcast anthology, and we’ll continue to cover the genre year round as we did this past year with The Cloverfield Paradox, A Quiet Place, and Hereditary in our massive back catalog of episodes. Chat with us on social media and send us your Six Degrees Of MMO submissions for challenge 4: Jaimie Lee Curtis to Mike Myers. We’ll be reading your responses on an upcoming podcast, and you can submit your IMDB journey’s (shout out to our friends on the pod of the same name). We’re Mike, Mike, and Oscar on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail. We’re at MMandOscar on Twitter. Please leave us a review on iTunes to help us spread the word about our show and remember our slogan. When reality sucks, watch movies with us. We’re Mike, Mike, and Oscar!
