​He received his undergraduate degree in Anthropology from the University of Vermont and Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Naropa University. As a therapist, he has focused on Buddhist psychology, positive psychology, human development, and mind-body approaches to healing. His approach is client-centered and integrates Western and Eastern approaches to healing and wholeness. He has worked as an individual therapist, group therapist, and has taught various workshops in professional and academic settings. As the CEO of Healbright, he collaborates with leading mental health experts to produce curriculum on topics like neuroscience, parenting, meditation, sexuality, PTSD,nutrition, stress, resiliency, and more.

He also practiced and studied various forms of Buddhist meditation for close to 15 years. He has studied Zen,Theravadan Buddhism, and Tibetan Buddhism with various teachers in Thailand, India, Bhutan, Nepal and the U.S. Additionally, he has spent 6 months in meditation retreat in monastic, solitary, and secular settings. He continues to practice and study Buddhist Psychology and meditation under the direction of Dr. Daniel P. Brown and Rahob Rinpoche. His practice experience and studies of Asian culture help him demystify a wide variety of meditation practices for his clients.

His approach to coaching combines therapeutic interventions, meditation instruction, and his personal experience from starting and running a business. Bill's style focuses on listening and understanding the roots of his client's struggles and takes the view that personal and professional problems often stem from deeper psychological dynamics. He uses an integrated model of wellness that takes into account biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors of wellness.
