Alex "The Tank" Armor was born in Calgary, Alberta, and currently resides in Johnson City Tennessee. After high school, Alex decided that he wanted to serve his country. He joined the US Army in 2004. While deployed Alex suffered major injuries after hitting 2 IEDs in Iraq. In 2010 Alex's injuries became too much and he was given noticed that he would be medically retired from the military.
After being medically retired he found his way as an adaptive Highland Games and Strongman competitor. At his peak, he ended up taking 1st in America's strongest disabled man and 3rd place in Worlds strongest disabled man. On top of that, he was able to pioneer and introduce the first-ever Adaptive Highland Games in Scotland. Alex has started 3 public charities that work towards the advancement of adaptive sports and the advancement of people with disabilities. He is the founder of Uncle Sams Highlanders and the Gimp Style Foundation.
