In 1988 and 1989, fear gripped New Bedford, Massachusetts as a series of murders unfolded. At least eleven women, many involved in sex work or struggling with addiction, vanished from the city. The remains of nine were found discarded along highways surrounding New Bedford, leaving two others missing. Despite a dedicated investigation, the case remains unsolved, leaving the identity of the New Bedford Highway Killer and the reason for these brutal crimes a chilling mystery.
Aaron Cadieux is a director, screenwriter, and executive producer of documentaries such as The Bridgewater Triangle (2013), America's Bermuda Triangle (2015) and The Tiverton Terror. I had the honor to discuss the cases with Aaron. He has dedicated over a decade of his life researching these cases and is currently working on a seven part series about the New Bedford Highway Killings.
