Happy New Year, MWO Community!!!
Today is a fresh start. But so is every day.
Yup, you heard me. Today is no different than ANY other opportunity that you have any other time that the sun rises to make a change in your life.
(This isn't your typical New Years Resolution podcast.)
Today I want to discuss with you the many reasons I believe most New Years Resolutions fail and how you can rethink your own to set yourself up for better success.
As moms, we convince ourselves that our goals aren't important or possible because there's not enough time for us. We overestimate what we should be able to accomplish in a month and underestimate what we could accomplish in a year. Instead of feeling discouraged, I want you to learn to be okay with stacking small wins over time and being in it for the long haul.
What you're so afraid is going to TAKE AWAY from your kids is actually giving back to them in a way that is immeasurable.
But we must be careful, because our kids are always watching us. We must be careful what they hear us say we're going to do. How many times have our children heard us say "I really need to ________" and not follow through?
Don't let your kids grow up watching mom swear every January 1st that she's going to lose 30 pounds.
Don't let your kids grow up watching mom come home miserable from work, swearing she's going to find a job that's better suited for motherhood.
Don't let your kids grow up watching mom put her dreams on the back burner year after year after year after year, all while telling them "you can be anything you set your mind to."
Be what you set your mind to.
You can do it, mama.
But you HAVE to have a plan.
You have to take action.
& you can't give up this time.
