On this episode of “On the Shoulders of Giants”, hosts Thomas Steenburg and Julie Rench welcome long time investigator, writer and book author Lyle Blackburn to the show to discuss some of the back stories to the 1972 film The Legend of Boggy Creek. They separate fact from fiction and the influence it still has on many people to become intrigued by the enigma of Sasquatch. What really happened in Arkansas all those years ago? Join in and take a front seat to the true history of this iconic film and how it validated other sightings from as far away as the Pacific Northwest going back to the 1950’s to present day. Also, they discuss Lyle’s investigations, books, films and upcoming projects that he is involved in. Lyle is a native Texan known for his work in writing, music, film, and cryptid research. He is the author of several acclaimed books, including The Beast of Boggy Creek and Sinister Swamps, whose subject matter reflects his life-long fascination with legends and sighting reports of unknown creatures and strange phenomena. Lyle is also the founder of the rock band, Ghoultown, and narrator/co-producer of documentary films including The Mothman of Point Pleasant and Boggy Creek Monster. Lyle is a frequent guest speaker at cryptozoology and paranormal conferences around the country, and has appeared on numerous television shows such as Monsters and Mysteries in America, Strange Evidence, and Finding Bigfoot.
