Hey there, surfers and beachgoers! It's time for the lowdown on the waves at your favorite spots in New York!
Let's kick things off in Kings, where we've got a high rip current risk hanging around like that one seagull eyeing your sandwich. Surf's sitting at around 3 feet today, so grab those boards and ride the waves carefully. Keep an eye out for thunderstorms, but don't let that rain on your parade. UV index is very high, so slap on that sunscreen, and let's catch some rays while catching some waves. Highs in the lower 80s, with a south wind cranking along at 10 mph.
Moving on to Southern Queens, we've got similar conditions with a high rip current risk and surf around 3 feet. Thunderstorms might make an appearance, but don't let that dampen your spirits. UV index is still very high, so stay protected! Highs will be in the upper 70s with a slightly stronger south wind at 10 to 15 mph.
Southern Nassau, get ready for that high rip current risk too, along with 3-foot surf and thunderstorms looming. UV index remains very high, so don't forget that sunblock. Highs in the mid-70s, and a south wind at 15 mph will keep things breezy.
Down in Southwestern Suffolk, we're sticking with the program - high rip current risk, 3-foot surf, and a chance of thunderstorms. UV index is still very high, so gear up! Highs in the mid-70s with a south wind picking up to 15 mph.
Lastly, in Southeastern Suffolk, we've got that high rip current risk once more, 3-foot surf, and more thunderstorms in the mix. UV index remains very high, so don't skimp on that sunscreen. Highs in the mid-70s, with a southwest wind at 15 mph.
Remember, folks, always respect those rip currents and stay safe out there. If you're hitting the waves, keep a flotation device handy and stick close to a lifeguard. And if you find yourself caught in a rip current, don't panic - relax, float, and go with the flow.
