Hey there beach lovers, surfers, and sun-soakers! It's time for your New York surf zone forecast straight from the National Weather Service.
Today in Kings (Brooklyn), we've got a high rip current risk alert in effect. Expect the surf height to be around 5 feet, with a chance of thunderstorms and partly sunny skies. The UV index is on the low side, so don't forget your sunscreen! Temperatures will be in the mid-80s with a max heat index of up to 100. And hey, winds will be coming in from the South around 10 to 15 miles per hour.
Heading to the Southern Queens beaches like Jacob Riis Park and Rockaway Beach? You've got that high rip current risk to watch out for too. Surf height around 5 feet, moderate chance of thunderstorms, and a high temperature in the upper 70s. Winds there will be coming from the South around 15 miles per hour.

Lastly, Southeastern Suffolk's Smith Point, Cupsogue Beach, Hither Hills State Park, and Ditch Plains are also facing a high rip current risk. Surf will be around 4 feet with mostly cloudy skies and a high temp in the upper 70s.
