When I first started this podcast, there were lots of fears that creeped in my mind for all the reasons not to move forward: I would tell myself, you don’t know what you’re doing, you don’t have a big following, who would listen, it’s super scary, you don’t know how to edit or what equipment to use, you don’t know what you are doing at all, and so on. I’m so thankful I didn’t allow myself to listen to these setbacks or any other negative self-talk I could have spoken (in my head). I learned that I needed to start small, and grow from there, and just see what happens. My guest, Courtney Bosworth, on today’s episode shared that little bit of insight when she decided to leave the teaching profession to be a more present wife and mother, without having a plan for what to do next as a career. She decided to pick up a camera, invest in herself, start small, and eventually created a thriving wedding and family photography business.

If you have asked the following questions:

“Can I start over?”

“Is it too late to start a business?”

“Can I start a photography business?”

“How do I start a photography business?”

“What jobs can I do after teaching?”

“Am I stuck?”

“Can I create a thriving business at 40?”

This is the episode for you!

Questions we discussed:

-At what point did you have a desire to pursue something outside of the classroom?

-What was it about photography that looked appealing to you?

-Did you feel as though you had an eye for photography? What was your background in photography?

-How did you finally make the decision to jump and take the risk?

-You left teaching to have a career that allows you to be a present mom while running a business. How much of that has come to fruition? What are your current goals within your business?

- We discussed recently that you are looking for a change, but not exactly sure what that change is. What do you think year 1 Courtney would say to you right now? What do you feel would truly bring full satisfaction?

-What would you say to the woman who feels stuck in a career and has a business idea, but is terrified of pursuing that idea?
