The Canadian women’s soccer team has been embroiled in controversy following revelations that they used a drone to spy on New Zealand’s training sessions during the 2024 Paris Olympics.

This incident prompted a formal complaint from the New Zealand team to the International Olympic Committee.

In response, Canada’s Olympic committee issued an apology, dismissed head coach Bev Priestman from the team, sent home two additional staff members, and imposed a suspended prison sentence on one of them.
