The Machine sends us to March 31, 2010 to cover the romantic drama, starring Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, and Greg Kinnear.

17-year-old piano prodigy Ronnie Miller (played by Miley Cyrus) has been on a rebellious streak ever since her parents’ divorce three years ago: her grades have tanked, she’s been arrested for shoplifting, and she hasn’t played the piano since her dad moved out. Her mother, Kim (played by Kelly Preston) sends her and her brother Jonah (played by Bobby Coleman) from their home in New York to the small town of Wrightsville Beach, Georgia, to spend the summer with their father, Steve (played by Greg Kinnear). Ronnie, who is still angry at her father because of the divorce, spends much of her time palling around with local bad girl Blaze (played by Carly Chaikin) - until her quest to protect a nest full of sea turtle eggs brings her face to face with handsome teenaged aquarium volunteer Will Blakelee (played by Liam Hemsworth). As a summer romance blooms between Ronnie and Will, she starts to rekindle her relationship with her father - and the piano as well.
