The second wave of COVID-19 has impacted everyone of us in some form or the other. In extremely distressing times like this, Kollywood buffs got shocking news of the death of popular director KV Anand known famously for portraying issues of significance and packaging it perfectly!
In this Musical Special Tribute to late KV Anand, we take the listeners down the memorable journey of someone who won the coveted National Award for Cinematography in the Malayalam movie ' Thenmavin Kombath' in 1994.
The episode is split up in a manner that covers movies specifically in Bollywood where he was a cinematographer to the movies he has directed; From 'Ayan' to 'Kaappan'. And one of the pillars of his success as a film director has been the contribution of 'Isai Minnal' Harris Jayaraj's fantastic songs!
Also, this personally for me is a very tough loss to endure as through the frames of KV Anand, Saravanan later became Suriya in the movie 'Nerukker Ner' produced under the iconic Madras Talkies banner. From there to working with him in three movies, lots of fond memories keep flashing by of their collaborations.
For the listeners who want a variety of songs, you sure won't be disappointed! And for lots of cine buffs who are big fans of the trio: Suriya- Harris Jayaraj- KV Anand this episode will leave you happy as celebrating the work of KV Anand is something that feels right & apt!
