June 2nd marks the birthdays of two legends of Tamil Cinema or Kollywood: Ace Director, Mani Ratnam and 'Maestro' Illayaraaja! A combination that has given so many movie buffs a treasure of memories!
In this birthday special episode to both these icons, me & Vignesh Sankar had my brother Varun as the guest, someone who introduced me to the world of Raaja's music through Mani Ratnam's movies. It is because of him, I am able to appreciate this collaboration and cherish them till date!
Its obviously tough to talk about all the movies they worked together in one episode, so we have covered five movies that are inspirational, iconic and magical in every aspect of film-making: Agni Natchathiram, Mouna Raagam, Anjali, Nayakan and Thalapthi!
For all cine buffs who have been following this duo's work, and had the privelage to see all these movies in theatres its going to take you down a very fond memory lane; and for all looking to explore why each of these movies is so special for each one of us personally, you are really going to enjoy this tribute!
