My Favorite Sister

Another Sunday morning...another recording. This week’s sister catch up covers a wide range of subjects (most of them probably very unexciting for the listeners). They include but are not limited to; the fear of getting murdered in their dad’s house, where they would hide if there was an intruder in said house, Sarah’s recent work fun that included a Sears like photoshoot, buying a castle in Scotland, and of course how their coworkers are making them feel old. That last one includes a lengthy discussion on Minesweeper.

For the main discussion this week Elizabeth and Sarah are breaking down the pilot episode of the Gossip Girl reboot on HBO Max.

Please note - they have only watched the first episode, so opinions are based solely on that.

Using handwritten notes they go beat by beat into the pilot discussing this new crop of teens roaming the halls of Constance Billard St. Jude’s and the teachers who bully them. Questions that come up during their chat; Who listens to something at full volume of a train with no earbuds? Who is this show for? Is this the story we want to be telling in 2021? Did knowing who Gossip Girl was kind of ruin the premise of the show? And how much money did Adidas give HBO Max / Gossip Girl?...because they were mentioned approximately 100 times during the episode. Side note: learn the wrong way that Europeans say that brand name.

Mostly we were just disappointed that we didn’t get an update on all our favorite characters from the original show. And by all the characters we mean Chuck and Blair obviously.
