×Hey family, we are so pleased this Sunday to welcome Dr. Steven Smith as our guest speaker. He'll be speaking a message of deliverance for all of us. In the Book of Exodus, we learned that God used the struggles of the Israelites to bring them to himself. He freed them from slavery and guided them through the trackless desert on their way to the promised land. Just like the Israelites, we face struggles in our own lives. How does God use those struggles to deliver us? Come Sunday at 10 a.m. to be enlightened! We meet at 360 Schermerhorn St. Kids' Church also starts at 10 a.m., so please bring your family! --Edwin…
Our inside lives matter to God Hey family, we'll start this new year with a look at how important it is to examine our inside lives. We might work very hard to make sure others see a confident, capable person on the outside... but if we don't examine deep inside ourselves, we might get tripped up by unacknowledged anger, fear, or other emotions. Psalm 139 talks about how God knows us completely, all the way through, and how He is much more concerned what's going on with our hearts than what we show on the outside. Please join us at 10 a.m. on Sunday, 360 Schermerhorn St., and bring a friend to start the new year right. IgNite Kidz children's church for ages 5-12 starts at 10 a.m. as well. --Edwin…
Hey family, is there a friend you can invite to our Christmas service this Sunday? The holidays can be lonely for those with no family nearby--or even no family at all. Jesus came to earth in order to seek and save the lost. This Sunday, let's introduce him to someone new when we come together as part of the family of God. We meet at 10 a.m. at 360 Schermerhorn St…

This Sunday we continue to talk about what it means that Jesus came to earth to seek and save the lost. If you missed last week's message, you can listen to it here: Home - Next Step Community Church Please bring a friend to tomorrow's service. We meet at 10 a.m. at 360 Schermerhorn. Kids' Church also starts at 10, for children ages 5-12. --Edwin Announcements: * Children's Christmas party: Sunday, Dec. 22, 10 a.m. Invite a family to join us! * Christmas service: Sunday, Dec. 22, 10 a.m.…
Hey family, in our new series LIGHT OF THE WORLD, we're looking at what it means that light came into the world 2,000 years ago during Advent, when God entered into humanity in the flesh and made a way for us to have relationship with him. This week we're going to look at how the darkness in us squints at the light of Christ and maybe even wants to run away from it. It's a great time to examine our own hearts and even invite a friend who has been struggling with God. Join us at 360 Schermerhorn St. Service starts at 10 a.m., and so does iGnite Kidz for children ages 5-12. --Edwin…
Subject line: It's nearly Christmas Hey family, churches around the world are beginning to celebrate the season of Advent. Advent means "arrival," and it means the start of an event or the arrival of a person. Christians refer to Advent as the four weeks leading up to Christmas, the day we celebrate the coming of Jesus on Earth. Join us tomorrow, Dec. 1, as Pastor Edwin explains more about Advent and leading us in learning about this time of hope, love, joy and peace. We meet at 10 a.m. at 360 Schermerhorn St. Our iGnite Kidz children's church for ages 5-12 also starts at 10. We hope to see you there.…
Hey family, rescuing people from a lifetime of negative behaviors and painful consequences is what Jesus loves to do. He accepts us, forgives us, sets us on a new path. Our belief in Him is what save us. But do we truly honor him as Lord? This Sunday we'll learn the difference between life-changing faith... and fire insurance. Join us at 360 Schermerhorn St. at 10 a.m. Sunday as we hear the word from Pastor Hau Liu of Hope Midtown Church. iGnite Kidz church for ages 5-12 starts at 10 a.m. also.…
subject line: How long, O Lord? Many of us have asked this question during different stages of life where we were faced with hardship or difficulty for extended periods of time. Listen in for our marathon service
Hey family, often when we come up against something that makes us feel powerless or out of control, we focus on addressing that feeling rather than the thing that makes us feel that way. We try to kill the pain but not the sickness. What is going to end up supreme when we confront these insurmountable challenges? Is it going to be us and our own efforts, these challenges, or something else? Join us on Sunday to receive hope and guidance. We meet at 10 a.m., 360 Schermerhorn St. This Sunday is a great opportunity to bring your kids or grandkids! Our children's ministry, IgNite Kidz, will be holding a special event in the park next door with face painting, a Bible story and more. --Edwin ANNOUNCEMENTS: Sat., Oct. 26, noon-4 p.m.--SPECIAL EVENT. Each of us has a primary thing that our hopes and dreams are wrapped up in. For some of us, we think that if we win the lottery, that will be the solution to everything. For others, it's if we get into a relationship, that will be the solution to everything. Or if we just had better health. Or if... There are a million "things" it might be. In our series SUPREME, we've been arguing how the greatest thing we can give to our lives is Jesus. Of course, many people would agree. But... what would it really look like to see Christ SUPREME in every area of our lives? That's what we'll talk about this Sunday. Our service is at 10 a.m., 360 Schermerhorn St. Kids' Church also starts at 10 for children ages 5-12. --Edwin ANNOUNCEMENTS: Sat., Oct. 26--SPECIAL EVENT. 40:45Hey family, this Sunday we're starting a brand-new series called SUPREME. Everyone has something that runs our lives, that motivates us, moves us, guides us, prompts us to behave the way we do. But when the thing that is supreme in our lives is not good for us, it wreaks havoc, destroys relationships, affects our work ethic, and in general makes everything a mess. Join us this Sunday as we start to discover what the supreme things are in our lives--and shift our focus from the things that we've given ourselves to the Supreme One who created us. Our service is at 10 a.m., 360 Schermerhorn St. Kids' Church also starts at 10 for children ages 5-12. --Edwin ANNOUNCEMENTS: Friday night in-person Bible study—led by Rob Lambert, live at 360 Schermerhorn. 7 p.m. All are invited! Hey family, throughout this series we've learned some truths about work. Some of us view work as gross, a necessary evil to be endured. Others view work as God--the thing that we pour ourselves into and get our identify from. The truth is, work is worship, an opportunity to praise God with the gifts he's given us and thank him for the place he's given us to use them. This week we're going to look at another aspect of work that is actually one of the most important commands that God has ever given. That command is to stop work and take a day of rest, or as the Bible calls it, sabbath. The Sabbath is a fundamental part of our lives. It's a reminder of the work that God has already done and a way to hear him amid the hustle and bustle of life. I hope to see you, and bring a friend! Join us at 10 a.m., 360 Schermerhorn St. Kids Church also starts at 10 for kids ages 5-12. --Edwin ANNOUNCEMENTS: Friday night in-person Bible study—led by Rob Lambert, live at 360 Schermerhorn. 7 p.m. All are invited! SAVE THE DATE--This year's Day of Delighting will be Saturday afternoon, Oct. 27, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Join us to learn about fasting and new ways of worshiping God.…
