Skirmish prompt was a choice of sunrise or sunset. This is a revised version of the song I recorded and posted within the one-hour skirmish time. The 50/90 site crashed during the skirmish, and while it was down I revised my original first verse and added a bridge. As I hadn't been able to post the original version, I decided to do a quick recording of the new version and put that one up instead. Except for the bridge, the music didn't change from the skirmish version. I've included the original lyrics to verse 1 in brackets. Wait for the Sunset © 2017 – words and music by Sharon Stepler [Note: This is a revised version of the skirmish song. Original lyrics are in brackets.] We don’t have much time now [You don’t want to leave me] I wish you could stay Wishes don’t matter much At the end of the day There aren’t many choices [Star-crossed lovers] You do what you must [Not meant to be] No work around here [Before you go] Our town’s turned to rust [Do one thing for me] But Wait for the sunset To say good-bye Give me one last kiss beneath a rose-gold sky Wait for the sunset ‘Til day is done I don’t want to cry in the noonday sun Look at the mountains Standing so tall They make our problems Seem so small The day will soon take one Last glorious bow Hold me close to you and Watch with me now Wait for the sunset To say good-bye Give me one last kiss beneath a rose-gold sky Wait for the sunset ‘Til day is done I don’t want to cry in the noonday sun I will wait for you Someday again we’ll go walking in the morning dew Wait for the sunset To say good-bye Give me one last kiss beneath a rose-gold sky Wait for the sunset ‘Til day is done I don’t want to cry in the noonday sun
