Top tips for getting started with charts:

  1. Find the smallest number on the chart (usually #1) and that’s where you begin (usually bottom right corner)
  2. Start each row from where that row number is and work toward the other side
  3. Check that the chart has every row charted. If not, find out from the pattern what you are supposed to do on those rows that aren’t charted
  4. Check for the chart key
  5. To keep track of your place in the chart, cover up the rows you have NOT worked yet
