Everyone has personal space and boundaries and understanding the difference is important.
In regards to this episode, "space" is physical or emotional distance needed for a certain amount of time to fulfill an internal emotional need. It's something that varies based on external circumstances and doesn't happen all the time.
A boundary is something that never changes. It's a hard line in the sand that never varies based on emotional needs or external events.
It's important to understand what our own needs for space and boundaries are so we can clearly communicate them to our significant other. Otherwise, you can get caught up in a viscous cycle of your spouse constantly crossing a line they didn't know existed, which is unfair for both of you!
In this episode, we discuss our own personal needs for space and boundaries, how they affect each other, and why it's so important to respect them.
