Ep. 11 "You're Crazy!!"

Let's reframe what it's like to be crazy.

• How many times do you think Mr. Tesla was told he was crazy? What about Travis Pastrana and the X games?
• Something that is interesting with these type of people is they don’t like to follow the rules.
• They like to be free, think free, and do something that has never been done before.
• These people don’t fit the mold so to say. They have thoughts that are not fathomable to many. They are usually mis-understood.
• Crazy people have better stories than most. In the end, your life is a story. A long story in which I think most people would say their stories or boring.
• The idea of “normal" has shifted
• How can you make your story a page-turner? Realize everyday is a blank page, so what will you do so that your story is a great read.
• They have stories that I think most people want but yet most people aren’t “crazy enough or brave enough” to do.
• They always think that theres something more, something that we have never seen. Something that they strive to do or get.
• When you think in this way you start pushing the boundaries, and this is where success happens.
• So the saying of thinking outside the box, well these people don’t see a box at all. They do not know what box you are talking about.
• Obviously theres many many stories about people who were told they were crazy but choose to keep moving forward with their CRAZY idea.
• So maybe we should start paying attention to our own crazy ideas and truly give them a chance and see where they take you.
• Have you been called crazy lately? If not, maybe you should…?? Maybe you aren’t striving hard enough then.
• You must create a story because you are in one whether you want to be or not, so make it a crazy one!
• How open are you to truly new ideas? I mean mind-blowing ideas.
• Will your business overturn the status quo?
• Think about these truly amazing people with these amazing stories of starting a company or coming up with this “crazy” idea. It all started with this unconventional idea, outside of what we thought was possible.
• Is it smart to talk to people in your business field and ask them what you yourself should do? I we need to go our own way and create a new path. Build your business differently and with a better idea of whats already out there.
• Its okay to enter into a field that you necessarily don’t know to much about because maybe the little that you do know might be key into a new great idea.
• Being oblivious can actually be a nice asset, because you are coming at it with a different view point.
• If we stay on the “Safe” path, or the comfortable path that other people have already been down, We run the risk of missing out on all the fun parts of creating something new and amazing, or CRAZY.
• To be Crazy means to think opposite!
• What do people see as right, correct, and maybe we should see crazy and different.
• Examples of companies and people who went opposite pg 151: Amazon (made selling books in a huge store to shrinking that store to the virtual world), Dell (Direct marketing and personal design), Netflix (Virtual rental for unlimited rentals), Starbucks ($5 cup of experience), Zappos ($2,000 dollar quit now bonus),
• 6 words that should be a sign of go the other direction, “The way we’ve always done it”. When you hear those 6 words, think crazy and crazy meaning think opposite!
• Thinking and being crazy can be lonely. More often than not it will be lonely! Know this and accept it, but being called crazy can be a great thing if you choose to pursue with passion and love.
