It's time to leave the rabbit hole behind and fly off to Neverland! Drew and Cassie give their final thoughts on Alice in Wonderland and its place in history before moving on to our next story, Peter Pan by Sir J. M. Barrie. This is by far the longest and most complex story we've looked at so far, so we work our way through the story's plot, along the way discussing Barrie's unique writing style, Peter as the embodiment of childhood, the rich details of the novel, the parallels between Captain Hook and Mr. Darling, the intentionality of symbolism, Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett, Wendy as a protagonist, the genius of saving Tinker Bell, and much more. You won't want to miss Drew's explanation of why this story means so much to him. Plus, we reveal the Peter Pan criteria and which retellings we'll be reading and watching this month!
