Radical honesty is saying things just as they are. It is not shaping or filtering your language in a way that you think the other person is willing/able to receive it.
What is required for to be in place for radical honesty to be the next step on your journey of intimacy:
-Is communication a value?
-Are you able to hold safe space for each other without immediately being triggered and shutting down? Are you clear on how to set the stage for this?
-Are you willing to surrender to vulnerability and get emotionally naked and bare?
-Is this level of honesty consensual?
We resist sharing ourselves with others to the extent that we are making our past/fears/perspectives mean something about us that it doesn’t. Radical honesty with a partner begins with radical honesty within ourselves. We can only be as intimate with someone else as we are willing to be with ourselves.
