Scott & Delissa Mainord | Mainord Family Farms

Finances has and continues to be a great challenge for farmers, where most farmers in the US have jobs outside of farming, calling farming their “part-time job”. Well, farming is anything but part-time, it takes a lot of time and energy, especially after working a day job. This is the reality for our guests on today’s episode, Scott and Delissa Mainord.

On this episode, we speak to one of our For Farmers Grant winners, Scott and Delissa Mainord of Mainord Family Farms, located in East Prairie, Missouri. Mainord Family Farms is a produce farm, where they mainly grow watermelon and pumpkins, after working their day jobs.

Scott and Delissa were looking to expand their pumpkin varieties and needed an extra financial boost to grow specialty pumpkins, which they received through our For Farmers Grant after being nominated by a family member, and they are here to talk about it!
It’s the love of growing food for others that keeps farmers like the Mainords going, and we love that we had the opportunity to support their cause.

Tune in to hear Scott and Delissa’s story, and how they manage to run a farm in their busy lives!

Topics discussed in this episode:

  • What Scott and Delissa’s daily routine looks like
