For this month's episode of the Our Sam Talking out Loud podcast series, we have partnered with Professor Nick Embleton and The Butterfly Project to talk about 'The loss of babies from multiple pregnancies'.
Nick is Professor of Neonatal Medicine at Newcastle University, Consultant Neonatal Paediatrician at Newcastle NHS Trust, and Co-Founder of The Butterfly Project.
In the first part of this special focus episode, Our Sam, Founder and CEO, Philippa Davies, opens the conversation with Prof. Nick Embleton, to discuss The Butterfly Project, and the challenge this project addresses in cases where a baby, or more than one baby from a multiple pregnancy dies, leaving a surviving sibling or siblings, and also the challenge and impact of communication for professionals and families, in situations of loss in general, but with a particular focus on loss from a multiple pregnancy.
