Gout, a type of arthritis, is not only incurable but affects an estimated 8 million people in America. There's a drug on the market right now called febuxostat (brand name: Uloric) that has been used to treat hyperuricemia in patients with gout, but one nonprofit is urging the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to immediately remove it from the market for very compelling reasons.
