It has been many months, but I have finally managed to publish another of our gaming sessions. Assuming YouTube scheduler works, the video should be live by the time this post is published, and the Podcast version should be online as well. It has been many months since I finished a session, and this one had its set of challenges. Not the least of which is that I am now using Adobe Premier Pro, which is a significant change from Davinci Recode, although the basic process is the same. As part of this transition, I also re-organized all my sources files, which in turn caused me to recreate a number of the basic assets I use – all of which added a bit of time that hopefully will no longer be necessary.

In the video, you will notice some new evolutions – for combat, I opted to zoom into the miniatures, to better focus on the action. Unfortunately, I didn’t think of this until after filming was done, so this is a digital zoom, and does get a bit fuzzy. For the next session, I am going to optically zoom with the camera, which should make it far clearer. You will also hear the sounds provided by Syrinscape, from their gaming aid. I did briefly use the tool during the session, but that was distracting, and it makes for a very bad editing sequence. Instead, after editing for content, I simply added a Syrinscape track to the trimmed video – much cleaner, and fairly straightforward.

During the next iteration, I am thinking of pulling together a collection of spell sound effects and such, to enhance the audio a little bit more during combat and events – will see how far I get with that, or it it makes the overall effort too messy.
