So you are pregnant and you want to get prepared with a thoughtful birth plan. But what happens if your birth plan doesn’t go according to plan.? What if all of the research YOU did get thrown out the window when emergency strikes?

Annabelle and Cady talk about Cady’s experience when her birth plan didn’t go according to plan and how she is going to better prepare for her next labor and delivery of her baby girl.

In Cady’s first pregnancy she started her journey by seeing an OB (Obstetrician Gynecologist) and things started out well with that Doctor. That was until she started to share her birth plan and ask questions about her labor and delivery.

Cady wanted to put together a birth plan that would involve some slightly unconventional position, no epidural, and a few other details that the OB did not feel comfortable.

Cady decided to go ahead and transfer her labor and delivery to a birthing center. She finalized her birthing plan and was in hopeful anticipation for the day. She was nervous, but excited and felt pretty confident. She had done her research and prepared her birth plan.

What she did not expect was a 47-hour labor and delivery process. During her labor, she had consistent contractions but the contractions were not dilating her cervix as expected… unexpected twist #1 triggered a series of things that landed Cady back in the hospital to give birth where she did not initially plan in her birth plan.

It seems that we cannot always create a full-proof plan that will be perfectly executed. It is important to not only have a firm grasp on your birth plan but to understand the possible option of what could happen in your pregnancy, labor, and delivery.

That is why we at Pearently think it is crucial to understand all of the possibilities that could happen during your pregnancy, labor, and delivery. It is very important for you to understand that what-ifs in your pregnancy and to have mental preparation for whatever comes your way.

Cady is FAR MORE prepared now having gone through her first pregnancy. But that is only looking back in hindsight. Imagine going into your pregnancy prepared and empowered for WHATEVER comes your way.

That is our desire for you here at Pearently.
