I am a guy, and I understand that guys have a different answer than women do. You are thinking that you just need the sperm to get pregnant. You may think the magic number is to have sex every day of the year in order to successfully get pregnant.

And the guy says, “great!” But this is not true. Men will experience performance anxiety if he tries to have sex every day of the month. Men think they can have sex every day, but they cannot.

Performance anxiety exists, and he will not be able to ejaculate when you need him to ejaculate. So, the optimal time to have sex is every 48-hours in order to get pregnant.

It is NOT every two days. Your egg lasts 12-24 hours, and the sperm lasts 48-hours. If you and your husband have sex on Monday morning, and then again on Wednesday night, the sperm from Monday morning will be dead on Wednesday morning (48- hours).

Say that you ovulate Wednesday morning. The sperm from Monday morning will not be able to fertilize your egg because they are dead. Your egg will last for 12-24 hours.

However, assume that it will only last 12-hours. So, if you ovulate Wednesday morning at 7:00 am, then assume that your egg will die by Wednesday at 7:00 pm. Say you have sex Wednesday night at 10:00 pm. You have missed your opportunity to conceive.

This is emotional, and you may think you have a fertility problem. You don’t have a problem, you just missed your opportunity.

Don’t set the clock, continue to enjoy the intimacy, and download our free 3 step guide to getting pregnant.
