This podcast topic is about helping you handle mental health issues in the workplace.

As a busy manager, leader or business owner you want to get the work done, get it done quickly, get it done cost effectively: get it done, get it done, get it done! Your staff, for the most part, also want that too. With that can come stress, a lot of stress. There may also be pressures you or your staff may be experiencing at home and it’s really hard to not let that have an affect at work.

This podcast aims to help you work out how to identify and help you and your staff handle mental health issues.

As part of this podcast you’ll hear from Grahame Gould who is a clinical psychologist and is the Executive Director of LifeLine South Coast.

In my career I’ve had some amazing experiences, I’ve really enjoyed the go, go, go and without keeping a check on it, and only from looking back on that time, do I realise that there were two key times were I was really burned out. I was really sick from not being able to check myself and where I was at with my health, wellbeing and levels of stress. I do not advise that learning process for anyone so that’s why I’m really happy to interview Grahame on this podcast.

Grahame and I discuss:

  • – The stigma of mental health and illness and issues in workplaces
  • – How you can identify when someone may be experience a stressful situation or dealing with a mental health issue
  • – What strategies you can use to help people
  • – What you can do to ensure your own mental health is in check

In the interview Grahame referred two links, here they are:
