Dookie is the third studio album by the American punk rock band Green Day. Released in 1994, this album catapulted Green Day to mainstream success and is considered a cornerstone of the (pop?)punk rock genre. With its catchy melodies, energetic guitar riffs, and rebellious lyrics, Dookie resonated with a generation of youth looking for something a bit different from the malaise that Grunge had found itself in and an outlet for their frustrations and anxieties. From the anthemic "Basket Case" to the infectious "Longview," the album showcases Green Day's signature blend of raw energy and melodic hooks. We cover the album in full as well as getting a Frank the W*nk update and a remorseful lament pertaining to poppers. Come join the fun! Do us a good turn and rate or review the Personal Jukebox on Spotify, iTunes and all of your podcast providers. Click that subscribe button too!
