When Luke and Laura separated, Lucky struggled with new responsibilities. His bond with Emily Quartermaine grew stronger, and the two set off on a cross-country trip to find her biological aunt. Luke and Laura chased after them, leading to a wild adventure before they all returned to Port Charles. Along the way, Lucky had a Go-Kart accident requiring surgery, but he remained resilient.
