Steven Dadd is a Toronto-based stand-up comedian and lover of the outdoors. After finding his passion working with wildlife and conservation he moved out to BC to experience the dark, but necessary side of the fish industry. Working for a large fish farming company, Steven tells us about his experiences from the time he was injured on the job all the way to becoming homeless and what he needed to do for survival. This is a dark comedy episode about tragedy, disappointment, and lessons learned. Steven produces his own stand-up comedy show at “The Office Pub” downtown Toronto every Sunday at 7:30 PM

BONUS: Salmon Confidential documentary

Q: If you could give a few words of advice on a postcard to yourself at 17, what would it say?

A: Take every opportunity.

Q: If you could relive any moment in your life where everything felt perfect, what would that be?

A: I did one paid gig as a comedian and that was the best ever. I did a show at Trent University and I opened for these improv guys. It was a fantastic day, got to hang with those guys and then they paid me. Made me realize this is why I do it, have a great time, hang out with funny people and then get paid.

Q: If money was no object, what would you do with your time?

A: I don’t get paid to do stand-up so I guess that right. Herping, going around traveling. It’s like birding except with reptiles and amphibians.

Outro Music Choice: “Never Said I Would” by Risky
